Informação
The Ligue 1 consists of 18 teams and uses a double round-robin system (each team plays every other team twice, once at home and once away). In a single match, the scoring system is as follows: 3 points for the winner, 0 points for the loser, and 1 point for each team in a draw. The final standings are determined by the total points accumulated. If two or more teams have the same number of points, the following criteria are used to determine the order of finish: a) Goal difference b) Head-to-head record (points from head-to-head matches, goal difference from head-to-head matches, total goals scored in head-to-head matches, total away goals scored in head-to-head matches) c) Total goals scored d) Total away goals scored e) Fair play points The top two teams automatically qualify for the next season's Champions League, the third-placed team earns a place in the Champions League qualifiers, the fourth-placed team enters the Europa League, and the fifth-placed team enters the Europa Conference League (the winners of the French Cup can also enter the Europa Conference League, if the winners of the French Cup have already qualified for the Champions League or Europa League, then the Europa League spot is given to the team with the best ranking among those who did not qualify for the Champions League or Europa League, and the Europa Conference League spot is also given to that team). The bottom two teams in the league are relegated to the second division for the following season. The third-from-bottom team plays a two-legged promotion-relegation playoff against the winners of the French second division playoff.
