Denmark 1st Division is composed of 12 teams, with a three round robin system. Otherwise, the home and away fields are determined by last season’s ranking of the two teams. The top ranked teams occupy the home court. Therefore, each team participates in 33 games in total. In a single game, the winner gets 3 points, the loser gets 0 point, and each side gets 1 point if draw. The first place in the League will be promoted directly to the Denmark Superligaen, the second and third places will take part in the promotion play-off, while the last two teams in the league will be demoted.
