Liga Super Malaysia is composed of 12 teams, which adopts a double round-robin format. Each team plays a total of 26 rounds. Teams receive three points for a win and one point for a draw. No points are awarded for a loss. The top finishing team will win the champion of Liga Super Malaysia and qualify for the group stage of AFC Champions League. The last two teams are relegated to Malaysia Premier Malaysia.
