The 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup was held in Poland from September 5 to 27. The 24 teams that advanced to the final stage were divided into six groups for a single round-robin tournament; a win earned 3 points, a draw earned 1 point, and a loss earned 0 points. The top two teams from each group, along with the four best-performing third-placed teams, made it to the round of 16. The round of 16, the semi-finals, the finals, the third-place playoff, and the final all used a single-elimination format: if the match ended in a draw after 90 minutes, a 30-minute extra time would be played; if no winner was determined after extra time, a penalty shootout would follow.
