The 2018 Asian Games was held in Indonesia. The men’s football competition was played by the national Olympic teams. The 25 teams are divided into 6 group. The top two in each group and the third ranked teams of four best-performing groups advance to the top 16. If two teams are tied in the single-legged knockout game, 30-minute extra time is played with a penalty shootout following if needed.
