The Norwegian Cup is divided into 7 rounds. The Tippeligaen teams will participate in the first round. The competitions are all based on a knockout system and a penalty kick is taken to score the winner. The final will be played in the neutral position and a 90-minute tie will be given overtime until the penalty kick determines the champion. The Norwegian Cup champion will participate in the second round of the Europa League qulificaiton next season. If the champion has obtained the league ranking to qualify for the European war, the places will be extended according to the league ranking.
